Also known as “Tongues of fire,” Barlotta is an Italian climbing French bean. It is basically the Italian version of kidney beans. Borlotti beans originated in North America where they are known by several names. They are also known as cranberry beans or French horticultural beans. A dual purpose climbing bean with beautiful red striped pods and coloured seeds. They can be eaten fresh or left to mature and shelled to reveal delicately speckled seeds. Plants can grow to 2.4 metres. Produce well from soil and containers.
