A traditional early variety that is as good today as when first introduced at the turn of the century. Preferred by many gardeners for its flavour. The smooth textured dark-green pods are very long, up to 38cm. Vines grow to 3 metres. Traditionally used as a soup bean, the beans are also edible as young pods. Vivid red flowers. This easy-to-grow bean is excellent for freezing. Earliest known date 1906.
