Description:
Plant World Seeds is known world-wide for its rare and unusual seeds but the name Plant World was the name of the gardens which Ray Brown designed on a side of a north-facing hillside overlooking the Teign. Ray’s original idea was to set out a map of the world and then plant the correct flowers in the correct place. Now more than 25 years on the garden has reached maturity and can be enjoyed every summer by visitors as well as providing seeds to our customers.
An off-shoot of this was that every year there were spare plants produced which made sense to sell through a nursery on site. The final integral piece in the jigsaw saw the arrival of a smart modern café in 2007 where customers could relax after visiting the garden or shopping for plants and buy light lunches or cups of tea or coffee while taking in the view.
